Circle K and its clients contribute 40,000 euros to Gift of Life

The clients of Circle K have donated 26,000 euros to the cancer treatment foundation Gift of Life in the last 12 months, with the company itself donating a further 14,000 euros.

Since last year, Circle K's clients have been able to drop cash in donation boxes at the cash registers in service stations. The sum they would like to donate can also be added to their bill and paid via debit card.

"Cooperation between the foundation and Circle K helps promote the idea that doing good should be a part of everyday life, rather than something extraordinary," said Gift of Life board member Toivo Tänavsuu. “The donation boxes in Circle K service stations all over Estonia are like buckets that are gradually being filled with good deeds. Once the bucket is full we can gift several people with hope and the opportunity to carry on living."

Circle K began working with the cancer treatment foundation in 2016, when all donators received a chocolate saying "Thank you for the gift of life". 10,000 euros was raised in just one month, which was used to treat people battling cancer. Last July the company started collecting donations in special "Give the gift of life!" boxes at the cash registers in Circle K service stations.

The company's cooperation with the foundation is even more extensive: Circle K sells the foundation's charity reflectors and covers the fuel costs of volunteers raising funds across Estonia.

Circle K Eesti AS is one of the largest motor fuel retailers in Estonia. It operates 59 full service stations and 17 automated stations, plus one convenience store. The company employs nearly 700 people, most of them working in its service stations. Circle K Eesti AS forms part of the international Alimentation Couche-Tard group, which is Canadian in origin.
