The cancer treatment foundation \u2018The Gift
\nof Life\u2019 is calling on companies to eschew knickknacks for clients, partners
\nand staff this Christmas in favour of making donations in support of those
\nbattling cancer. Charity Christmas cards and boxes of wafer biscuits are also
\navailable from the foundation this year.<\/p>\n

A donation to the foundation means giving
\nhope to those in Estonia who are suffering from cancer and a chance for them to
\nmake the most of a longer life surrounded by their loved ones. Some may even
\nbeat their illness completely.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne way companies can support us is by
\nmaking a donation instead of handing out the usual corporate knickknacks,\u201d said
\nthe foundation\u2019s director, Toivo T\u00e4navsuu. \u201cIf they want to support people
\nfighting cancer but at the same time not forget their partners or clients, they
\ncan purchase the wonderfully old-school wafer biscuits we\u2019re busy baking up
\nwith the team from Vahvlihaldjad to pop in everyone\u2019s Christmas stockings! We
\nhave charity reflectors people can buy, too.\u201d<\/p>\n

T\u00e4navsuu added that companies can now also
\nget all the Christmas cards they need from \u2018The Gift of Life\u2019. \u201cWe even take
\ncare of the messages printed inside them,\u201d he explained. \u201cOur volunteers can be
\ninvited to your Christmas party so everyone can pitch in and make a donation to
\nthose battling cancer, and I can come along and talk about the work we do.\u201d<\/p>\n

The foundation recommends booking a table
\nfor your staff at the \u2018Christmas Gala\u2019 being held at Saku Suurhall arena from
\n14-16 December, which boasts an impressive entertainment programme and at which
\ndonations can also be made to the foundation. For more information see

Last year, the construction company Rand
\n& Tuulberg decided not to hand out token Christmas gifts, favouring a
\ndonation to the foundation instead. By way of thanks, the little helpers at the
\nfoundation filled the company\u2019s stocking with wafer biscuits.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe feedback we got was really good, and
\nour partners really liked the idea,\u201d said Rand & Tuulberg office manager
\nMariliis Kulamaa. \u201cContributing to a gift like that \u2013 helping those in need \u2013
\nreally gives you a good feeling.\u201d<\/p>\n
